    These ornaments display needlecraft arts that are the historic roots of our own traditional American quilting. These elegant needlecraft traditions (layered patchwork, reverse appliqué, cross-stitch, needlepoint and trapunto) were developed many centuries ago in Asia. Traders brought these traditions to Europe and colonists later brought these skills to America. An educational card describing this history is included with each Heart Ornament.
